It’s been two weeks since
SXSW and I’m still recovering. But luckily for me my fellow panelist and fearless moderator James Milward, who’s an executive producer over at
The Secret Location has done a
great write up of our panel for Boards magazine. The panel went well, I thought. We debated the future, point, and various production considerations around interactive film and storytelling.
But rather than do a whole separate write up, I refer you to James’ writeup. It’s good! And it has an awesome courtroom-style cartoon illustration!
I’ll be doing an awesome workshop and 2 presentations at the
HOW Design Conference in Austin, TX from June 24th to the 27th. I’ll be posting more information on my talks as time gets closer but for now I’ve included the descriptions of the talks below. One thing to note is that, even though I talk about business, my presentations are never boring. Be prepared to have some fun and talk candidly about the topics at hand. Oh, and you’ll also receive tons of handouts from me that I’ve found to help other designers get the most out of their business. Hope to see you there!
Hi, I’m . I do some front-end development around here, and I thought I’d help you get to know your new barbariangroup.com!
It’s been a relief to get this site finally out the door and in front of all you nice internet people. As
Rick said (to some perhaps-deserved derision), it took over
six months to bring barbariangroup.com version four (internally codenamed
Merrimack) to fruition. That’s a crazy long time, sure. But we’re a small, busy shop, and couldn’t blow through this in a month. Not while continuing to pump out high-quality projects for Kashi,
CNN, Adobe, , , etc etc. We approached the barbariangroup.com version four redesign as seriously and as carefully as we would any content-rich client site, and as such, it took some time. And some people.
